Vancouver, British Columbia - It's with deep, devastating and profound sadness that we share the passing of BC Basketball Official Mr. Felix Gonzalez (Felix Patriarca Gonzalez).

Felix passed away yesterday, Feb 22, 2021 after a medical emergency. He was surrounded by his family and community in prayer along with his basketball family including coaches, players and fellow officials who had learned of his condition.

He is survived by:

Wife: Emmanuela Datayan Gonzalez
Daughter: Maria Izabelle Datayan
Son: Joseph Izmhael Datayan
Son: Jerome Izaac Datayan Gonzalez

Felix was an extremely accomplished official at the highest levels of basketball in Canada having officiated at the Canada West, U-Sports, PACWEST levels and at numerous Provincial High School tournaments. He was a well-liked official who refereed with integrity. He will always be remembered for his warmth on and off the court. Being a former star player made it easy for him to be firm and fair with all participants. He was always a beautiful and warm family man with an infectious laugh and smile.

Not being able to say farewell is so unfair to all of us....
We miss you dear "Toto" our friend

Most sincerely & respectfully,
from the BCBOA & GVBOA
