Conor Morgan selected to Team Canada ahead of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Americas Qualifiers

Vancouver, B.C. - Former UBC Standout Connor Morgan has been announced to Canada’s Senior Men's National Team for the upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Americas Qualifiers games against Venezuela on November 30 and Brazil on December 3.


During his run with team Canada at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia, Morgan help lead Canada to a silver medal. Morgan, who currently plays for Divina Seguros Joventut in the Liga ACB which is considered one of the the best leagues outside of the NBA. He is leading the team in blocks and the third leading scorer on the team.


Canada and Venezuela are co-leaders of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Americas Qualifiers at 7-1 in their second round Americas pool. There are two second round pools for the Americas and the top three teams as well as best fourth place team between the two pools will qualify as the seven Americas teams for the 32 nation 2019 FIBA World Cup from August 31 to September 15 in China.
