Dramatic season ahead. ’18/’19 PACWEST season is ON 👀

Vancouver, B.C. - The 2018/2019 PACWEST Basketball season promises for exciting games all year long. With the addition of the Okanagan College Coyotes to the PACWEST, seven teams will battle for the PACWEST Championship and a shot at National Championship Gold. Check out the early pre-season rankings leading into the opening weekend games this Friday and Saturday.


Men

2. Vancouver Island University Mariners

3. Capilano University Blues

4. Camosun College Chargers

5. Langara College Falcons

6. Columbia Bible College Bearcats

Early Favourite:

The Douglas Royals are coming into the Season with the early #1 Ranking. Coming off an outstanding season where they accomplished a PACWEST Title and a Silver Medal at the National Championships the Royals will take the court with a reloaded roster looking to bring home National Gold.

VIU’s ‘Coach K’:

Never count out VIU with Matt Kuzminski leading from the Bench. Kuzminski led VIU to a National Championship in 2013, is a two-time CCAA Coach of the Year, two-time PACWEST Champion and is looking to bring the Mariners back to the top.

For the 2018/2019, the Two Island teams appear to be favourites having made the pre-season National Ranking. VIU is returning 11 players from last years team which is looking to improve on their 4th place PACWEST finish. The defending PACWEST Champion Capilano Blues will face an uphill battle having graduated PACWEST Player of the Year Carmelle M’Bikata and the PACWEST’s all-time assist leader Ashley dela Cruz Yip.
