November 14, 2013 the Kwantlen Polytech University Eagles vs Langara College Falcons. The Game was held at Langara College hosting the Kwantlen Polytech University Eagles for the first Home Game. The Final score was 109 – 63 for the Falcons.

After dropping their first game of the year last week the Langara Falcons men’s basketball team came back with a vengeance this weekend with two decisive victories. On Thursday the Falcons beat the Kwantlen Eagles 109 to 63 and then followed that up with a 119 to 73 win over the Columbia Bible College Bearcats on Saturday night. “The boys really got our offense in high gear,” noted head coach Paul Eberhardt. “I think after last week’s flat effort we were highly motivated to get back on track.” Against KPU the Falcons not only scored but also showed great team defense as they led the Eagles 28 to 11 after the first quarter and 56 to 26 at the half and they cruised to a 109 to 63 victory. Seven Falcons scored in double figures led by Jitinder Lohcham with 17, Elliot Mason with 15, Garrett Ling-Lee had 14, Jamie Madewan with 13, Matt Madewan had 12 and Devante Williams and Daniel Hobden had 11 points each. What was most impressive is that the Falcons racked up 39 assists on 44 made baskets led by Daniel Kim with 10 and Brody Greig with 7. “We moved the ball exceptionally well against their zone and played very unselfishly looking to make the extra pass,” commented Eberhardt. Leading the way on the boards for the Falcons was Greig and Mason with 9 each while Lohcham pulled down 7 boards.

On Saturday Langara took on the CBC Bearcats and once again they put on a dazzling display of fast break basketball including a huge 37 point third quarter on their way to a 119 to 73 win. Brody Greig was absolutely spectacular as he had yet another triple-double with 15 points, 12 rebounds, and 14 assists. What makes Brody’s line even more impressive is that he was a perfect 6 for 6 from the floor and 2 for 2 from the foul line and he accomplished all of this in only 25 minutes of playing time. “Brody really got us going this weekend and he continues to do amazing things every time he steps on the floor,” said Coach Ebe. Once again leading the team in scoring was big man Jit Lohcham as he scored 21 points and pulled down 8 rebounds. “Jit is really starting to assert himself inside and is a force to be reckoned with on both ends of the floor,” commented Eberhardt. Other Falcons in double figures were Ling-Lee with 19 points and Elliot Mason scored 10 points and passed for 8 assists. Providing scoring off the bench for the Falcons was Jamie Madewan with 15 points and Devante “The Microwave” Williams scored 14 points while Marty Appiah chipped in with 9 points

Next up for the Falcons is another home game against the Douglas College Royals on Friday November 22nd at 8:00pm. The Falcons are presently ranked #5 in the CCAA and have a league record of 4 wins and 1 loss (overall record of 8 wins and 1 loss)
