NCAA

Huskies win big in TCL Vancouver Basketball Showcase opening game.

Vancouver, B.C. - The Washington Huskies kicked off the start of the TCL Vancouver Basketball Showcase Sunday night against the Santa Clara Broncos inside the Vancouver Convention Centre. Right fom the tip, the Huskies controlled the flow of the game, dominating inside and out in front of the sold out crowd of 3000+ under the sails at Vancouver Basketball Showcase.

Star sophomore Jaylen Nowell led the charge scoring 21 of his 32 in the 1st half for the Huskies. The Broncos kept up a good fight battling on both ends and made great strides to stay within striking distance in the first half. Washington led by as many as 18 at the start of the second half, but Santa Clara hung tight and made a big push cutting lead down to just 10 midway through the final half. Broncos Forward Josip Vrankic played big with 19 points and Keshawn Justice added 15 points and 5 rebounds on the night.

The Pack showed it’s strength and pushed the lead up to 16, finishing off the game with a well rounded team win 82 to 68. Look forward to a confident young Huskie squad to continue to make strides and finish ball games together.
