Vancouver, B.C. - Last night, the Britannia Bruins Senior Girls would be crowned Vancouver Champions as they defeated the Lord Byng Grey Ghosts 65-54 in the Tier 1 final.
The AA #5 Bruins, would hold a narrow lead at the half in a back-and-forth 20 minutes in their home gym. In the second half, Britannia would be persistent in their attack and defensive pressure resulting in lay-ups and full court defense. The Bruins would open a double digit lead a few minutes into the third quarter, but Lord Byng would catch their breath and create baskets in transition as their press break came into action. This flow would happen two more times in the last half as Britannia would charge ahead followed by a Lord Byng comeback. In the end, Britannia out powered Lord Byng securing the victory. Both teams will advance to the Lower Mainland Championships.
