Day 1 - Wednesday March 6th, 2019

1st quarter - half way through the first, 2-0. Both teams taking their time to get their offences going. Brit #0 Joshua Kagande trying to will his team into it. With two straight hoops by Britannia #27 John Deng (one slick tip-in put-back), Britannia takes the lead 10-8 to end the first.
2nd quarter -Britannia bench stepping up with big buckets (#13 Alex Ta and #15 Dorian Gonzalez). Britannia #19 Jadon Wanless with back-to-back 3s. Time out SMUS.
Halftime 31-21 Britannia.
3rd - SMUS claws back, but Britannia #0 Kagande gets an And-1 at the buzzer. He attacks fiercely. 44-37
4th - Britannia #27 Deng with his 4th tip-in put-back, followed by huge swat. When it started to snow outside, both teams went ice cold from the field. SMUS #11 Will Kinahan with a huge running bank shot to put them up 3 with a minute to go. Britannia can’t find a way to get a good look from outside the arch.
SMUS wins 49 - 46.

1st half - Cougars with three early steals, but unable to finish on the break. Dragons running double screens sets for guard #11 Romel Eyobe. Dragons have no answer for #21 Elan Kimpton Cuellar, who is a monster out there. Both benches are bringing major energy in the second quarter. Cougar’s #5 Gus Goerzen nails two straight 3s and makes the Dragons question their 2-3 zone. 33-33 at halftime.
2nd Half - Cougars in a full-court man press. Both teams heat up late in the 3rd, nailing elbow jumpers back and forth. Big three from Dragon’s #11 Eyobe followed by moving screen on Cougar’s #21 Kimpton-Cuellar, followed by a time out. King George up 6 with 1:20 left in the 3rd. Mid way through the 4th, four guys hit the floor for a loose ball. There is still a lot for these teams to play for. Dragon’s #11 Eyobe with another huge three in the forth quarter to go up 8. Cougar’s #5 Gus Goerzen knocks a 3 back. Down the stretch, Cougar’s #5 Goerzen nails another three to tie, then steals the ball, then nails one more 3. Cougars win 70-66.
