Day 2 - Thursday March 7th, 2019

First half - Physical matchup. Gryphons #12 Noah Fekete throwing bows on a defensive rebound leading to a hard foul. At the end of the second quarter, The Lions are up 4 but they are getting knocked around and beat up a bit. Gryphons #13 Fekete picked up his 4th foul late in the half. Gut check time at half. King David #30 Netanle Orzech attacks the hoop, And-1, and another Lion hits the deck and stays down for a moment.

2nd half - Lions are handling a big 2-3 zone by heating up from the perimeter. Gryphons making a living at the line late in the 3rd. Lion’s #1 Yuval Jacob hits a great reverse lay-up to cut the Gryphon’s lead to 2 at the end of the quarter, 61-59.

Early in the 4th, King David switch to a 3-2 trapping zone. Gryphons counter with a 1-4 offence. Lion’s #6 Oliver Munt finds some room down low and start doing damage, fouling out two Gryphon’s Centres. They are deep though and have a 9 point lead with 3:20 left in the fourth. Lions put on a 2-2-1 press, but the struggle to capitalize on turnovers. Lion’s #1 Jacob had a couple contested looks from 3, but no luck, Gryphons hold on for the 80-72 victory.
